iDEAL | Wero fees

Currence charges licencees (Issuers and Acquirers) and certificate holders (CPSPs and accredited parties) a combination of a one-off entry fee, an annual fixed fee, and a small variable fee per successful transaction. There are currently no fees for C2C providers. The figures below are the published rates for 2024–2026 and are exclusive of VAT.

For licencees (Issuers and Acquirers)

1. Non-recurring entry fees

A one-off certification fee applies per new Issuer or Acquirer. A graduated scale applies per group member and/or additional trade name:

A separate one-off fee applies for each additional acquiring platform or issuer environment (banking app or online banking environment) that receives its own acquirer ID or issuer ID:

A re-certification fee of €2,500 per Issuer or Acquirer applies whenever a scheduled re-certification is required and only becomes payable if the institution misses the timeline that iDEAL | Wero sets for it.

2. Annual fixed fee

Also graduated per group member and/or additional trade name per Issuer or Acquirer:

Acquirers that also act as a CPSP and/or C2C provider are only charged the annual Certificate Holder fee once more, on top of their Licensee fee, if those transactions are routed through a different acquirer rather than their own systems. Issuers that also act as a CPSP and/or C2C provider are always charged both the annual Licensee fee and the Certificate Holder fee.

3. Variable fees per successful transaction

The routing fee depends on how a transaction reaches the iDEAL | Wero Hub:

• Route 1 — the Acquirer routes transactions from its own CPSPs, C2C providers and merchants via its own acquiring platform.
• Route 2 — the Acquirer lets its CPSPs and/or C2C providers route their transactions directly via the iDEAL | Wero Hub.
• Route 3 — the Acquirer lets its merchants route their transactions directly via the iDEAL | Wero Hub.

4. iDEAL API specification fee

Licencees receive access to the iDEAL API Specifications once a one-off fee of €1,000 has been paid for the first calendar year.

For certificate holders and accredited parties (CPSPs and C2C providers)

1. Non-recurring entry fees

As with Issuers and Acquirers, a €2,500 re-certification fee applies per CPSP or C2C provider, and is only charged if a scheduled re-certification is not completed within the timeline iDEAL | Wero sets.

2. Annual fixed fee

* As registered with the relevant supervisor within the European Economic Area (EEA); the exempted rate only applies to Dutch PSPs. A CPSP that also acts as a C2C provider is only charged this annual fee once.
