As secure as internet banking

Every payment is authorised directly in your own bank's app or website — iDEAL | Wero never sees or stores your bank credentials.

How your payment stays safe

  • You confirm every payment inside your own bank's app or website — the same login you already use for internet or mobile banking.
  • iDEAL | Wero never asks for your card number, PIN, or banking password directly.
  • The merchant only receives confirmation that the payment succeeded — never your bank details.
  • Every session between your bank and the webshop is encrypted end-to-end.

Staying safe from fraud

iDEAL | Wero will never contact you by e-mail or text message asking you to "confirm" or "unlock" a payment. If you receive a message like that, it's phishing — see Fraud & phishing for how to recognise and report it.

Payment not going through?

iDEAL | Wero itself doesn't hold or move your money — every payment runs through your own bank's systems, so a failed payment is almost always bank-side rather than an iDEAL | Wero problem. See Outages for what to check first.
